Hotel Xcaret México — More Than an All-Inclusive

Many people dream of Paris, Orlando, or the world’s great theme parks. And rightly so — they’re wonderful experiences. But there’s a corner of Mexico that deserves to be part of that same conversation, and that many travellers still don’t know about.

In the Riviera Maya, Grupo Xcaret has built something that goes far beyond what you’d expect from a holiday resort. These aren’t empty attractions designed for mass tourism. They’re experiences with soul — ones that reflect the culture, nature and essence of México in a way very few places in the world manage to achieve. Underground rivers, cenotes, cultural shows, jungle, turquoise sea. All of it in one place.

We visited Xcaret years ago, when our daughter was just twenty months old. I remember entering the underground cenote — my husband carrying her on his chest as we made our way through that quiet darkness, surrounded by crystal-clear water. We signed a consent form before going in and I wondered for a moment if it was too adventurous. But it turned out to be one of those travel moments that stays with you forever. Silent, breathtaking, completely unlike anything else.

When a client contacted us to book Hotel Xcaret México, we knew exactly what we were talking about.

What is the All-Fun Inclusive™ and why is it different?

The All-Fun Inclusive™ concept goes well beyond food and drink. Your stay includes unlimited access to all Grupo Xcaret parks — and there are many:

Xcaret, Xel-Há, Xplor, Xplor Fuego, Xenses, Xoximilco, Xenotes and Xailing — including the ferry to Isla Mujeres and Cozumel. Hotel-to-park transport is also included, with shuttles running every 20–30 minutes from the hotel lobby.

In other words — you stay at the hotel and the entire Xcaret world is available to you at no extra cost. For a family or couple who want to make the most of the experience, this completely changes the value equation.

What’s included — and what isn’t

Worth knowing before you book so there are no surprises.

Included:

Unlimited access to all Grupo Xcaret parks

Round-trip ferry to Isla Mujeres and Cozumel

Airport-hotel-airport transfers — with specific conditions explained below

Hotel-to-parks-to-hotel transport

Food and beverages at most hotel restaurants

Local taxes — not all hotels in the Riviera Maya include these, but here they’re built into the rate

One thing worth knowing: food and beverages are included at all parks except Xenses, so it's worth planning accordingly if you have a visit there in mind.

Not included:

Spa treatments at Muluk Spa

Optional activities at the parks

Photographs taken at the parks

Certain exclusive restaurants such as Ha’ at Hotel Xcaret México or Fuego at Casa Fuego

Transport to Playa del Carmen — this is not covered by the All-Fun Inclusive™. The hotel can connect you with their official transfer partners to arrange this separately, either directly or through your travel agent.

Airport transfers — how it actually works

This is one of those areas where having the right information in advance makes a real difference.

The airport transfer is included in the All-Fun Inclusive™ rate, but only for guests arriving on a confirmed flight on the same day as check-in. It’s not available for those arriving without a confirmed flight — this is an airport requirement.

To activate it, flight details need to be shared with the hotel in advance — either through Guest Services or through your travel agent. A prior reservation isn’t strictly necessary, but it’s strongly advisable so the hotel can plan their vehicles properly and make your arrival and check-in smoother.

How it works on arrival:

If you arrive before 17:00, transfers run every 30 minutes

After 17:00, they run every hour

At the airport, look for Xcaret Hotels staff — they wear a pink shirt with beige trousers or skirt and carry a clearly marked sign

Standard rooms and Suites have shared transfers; Master and Presidential rooms include private transfers

The check-in deposit

On arrival, a deposit of $200 USD is required. This acts as a guarantee in case you wish to charge anything to your room or make purchases at the parks during your stay.

A practical tip: pay in cash in US dollars if possible. If no charges have been made by check-out, the refund is immediate and in cash. If you pay by card, the refund is subject to your bank’s processing times, which can take several days.

Planning ahead — reservations and what’s included

Some experiences within the Xcaret world require advance reservation — and not all of them are automatically included in the All-Fun Inclusive™ rate. Before your trip, it’s worth confirming exactly what’s covered in your package and which experiences need to be booked separately.

We recommend getting in touch with the hotel’s concierge team or your travel agent well before arrival — ideally at least 30 days ahead — to go through what’s included, check availability and secure any reservations you need.

It’s a small step that makes a big difference to how smoothly the holiday flows once you’re there.

Who is this hotel for?

For anyone who wants a México experience that goes beyond beach and pool. For families who want their children to discover the nature and culture of an extraordinary country. For couples looking for something different from conventional resorts. And for anyone who’s curious about what Mexico has that is genuinely authentic and spectacular.

It’s not the cheapest hotel in the Riviera Maya. But when you factor in everything that’s included — parks, ferries, transfers, local taxes — the value looks very different.
