Holidays to Spain during the summer months are most often to the coastal resorts in the regions of Andalusia, Murcia, Valencia and Catalonia, although there are options inland in cities such as Madrid and Seville.
Andalusia is one of the most popular coastal locations and is situated along the Costa del Sol with flights from the UK to Malaga which is the capital city of this region of Spain. Popular resorts along the coast include Estepona and Marbella to the west of Malaga and Nerja to the east.
Costa Blanca in the South of the Valencian Community region of Spain is another popular choice with the coastal resorts of Benidorm and Torrevieja with the nearest airport being Alicante. Further to the north is the regions capital city, Valencia. Although it doesn't have the resorts of the areas further south, it does provide a great city break and there is plenty to do for families.
To the north lies Catalonia with the Costa Dorada and Costa Brava, which can easily be reached from Barcelona. The main holiday destination in Costa Dorada is Salou which is also home to PortAventura as well as 30 stunning beaches. Costa Brava lies to the north of Barcelona and stretches to the French border. The main city along the Costa Brava is Girona.
