Port Canaveral is located 45 minutes east of Orlando and is one of the busiest cruise ports in the world.  This is the home port for numerous cruise ships which visit over 100 ports in more than 50 destinations. 
 

How to get to Port Canaveral

Orlando International Airport (MCO) is located around 42 miles west of Port Canaveral with travel times being around 45 to 60 minutes depending on traffic.  This is the main airport with hundreds of flights from within the United States as well as Internationally.

Most cruise lines will offer transfers on the day of your cruise, although if travelling to Orlando a day or more before hand then you may need to look at other options such as private shuttle services, taxis or ride share.

If you intend to stay in or around Orlando before your cruise, most of the popular hotels will offer free shuttle transfers from the airport, although it is best to check with your hotel before arrival.  

The local bus company in Orlando is Lynx, which has routes from the airport to popular destinations such as Downtown Orlando, Florida Mall, Sand Lake Road SunRail Station and SeaWorld.  Click for Lynx website.

There are companies who offer cruise transfers from Orlando International Airport, with Go Port offering Fly Snooze Cruise Package.  This package includes your airport to hotel transfer, hotel stay, transfer to Port Canaveral on embarkation day as well as transfer back to the airport on the day your cruise gets back to Port Canaveral.  More details can be found on the Go Port website.. Taxis operate from Orlando International Airport which costs approximately $115 to Port Canaveral.  Ride share firms Uber, Lyft and Wingz are also other options for travel to the cruise port.

Car rentals are available at the airport with one way options available allowing you to drop the car off at the rental site at Port Canaveral.  There are also shuttles available to then take you to the cruise terminal.

Melbourne Orlando International (MLB) is another option for travel and is around 28 miles south of Port Canaveral.  

Flights operate within the United States with Allegiant, American Airlines, Avelo Airlines, Delta and Sun County Airlines.  Holiday company TUI also uses this airport connecting the United Kingdom to Florida via airports in Birmingham, Bristol, Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London-Gatwick, Manchester and Newcastle.
