Los Angeles Cruise Port
There are 2 cruise ports which are located south of Los Angeles and are between 20 miles (32km) and 22 miles (35km) away from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) depending on the cruise port. Travel time by car is dependent on traffic and is between 30 minutes to 1 hour. There are also 2 other airports close by which are Long Beach Airport (11 miles/17.5km) and John Wayne Airport (31.5 miles/50).
Long Beach Cruise Centre is exclusively for the ships of Carnival Cruise Line. If you are flying into Los Angeles and are heading straight to Long Beach the public transport option is the metro. There is a shuttle that provides a transfer to Aviation Station on metro line C (Green Line). Take metro line C Willowbrook - Rosa Parks station and change to Metro Line A (Blue Line) and head south to Downtown Long Beach. If you are heading straight to the cruise terminal, the bus operated by passport runs from Downtown Long Beach to the cruise terminal. The drop off point is at the Queen Mary cruise ship permanently docked and used as a hotel.
There is also a public bus from LAX that can be taken from LAX City Bus Center. The bus line is 242 and takes between 90 minutes to 2 hours depending on the time of day and traffic.
The Los Angeles Cruise Terminal is in San Pedro and has two cruise terminals.
Public transport options for travelling direct to San Pedro would be to head towards Long Beach by either metro or bus and then take the 142 bus taking around 25 minutes.
